Minitown
The conception of Minitown started quite a few years ago with the
idea of recreating our main street. Local businesses and organizations
paid for a plot of land on which was to be built a mini replica (facade
and open back) of their building. The idea was so popular that we
needed a side street too.
Grants from Degenstein and Edna Sheary for the resilient walkway materials make the area accessible to everyone, Without their contribution also we wouldn't have such fabulous musical manipulatives inside the Haines Music Store. Volunteers have worked hard for these past few years under the direction of Dick Norman.
The project is more than 90% completed and looks fantastic. Teachers,
students, friends, church groups, organizations, businesses, etc. have
contributed such time and talent that these pictures show--- Come to
Kidsgrove and enjoy a walk down our streets!
